I’m trying to get back to posting these on time again.
I’ve been back to work for a few days now, and I think I’m finally getting back into the grove of a regular routine.
I’m trying to catch up on all of the sleep I missed last week, and being back on my usual schedule seems to be helping.
I don’t have much else to report, it’s been a rather uneventful few days. I’ve done a little more work in my shop, and have gotten started on the next set of kitchen cabinet doors. Once these are finished, all of the upper cabinets will be done, and I’ll move on to the lower ones.
I’ve managed to keep up with my writing since the weekend, churning out a consistent 1000 words per day, which I’m glad about. I was worried that the inertia of not writing for a few days would make me struggle much more to get back into it, but I think getting back to a regular routine has really helped.
So here’s this Check-In’s Goal Breakdown…
Goal #1 – Finish My First Draft
I’ve written another 2500 words since the last check-in, which I‘m happy about. Since my last Check-In was a day late, that number is consistent with my 1000 words per day goal.
Since this Round began, I’ve written about 56,700 words, and the draft is now just over 146,700 words in total.
Goal #2 – Write At Least Three Articles/Essays
Still haven’t gotten around to this one yet, because I’m saving this one for when I’m done the first draft and want to take a break from it. Though I am considering taking some time off from the first draft to work on at least one small writing project, just for a change of pace.
Goal #3 – Start Editing
I still haven’t started on this one, either. I won’t edit until the draft is done. I’m a horrible self-editor, so I’m really trying to not go back and edit while I write. I’m saving all of the editing for when the draft is done.
Goal #4 – Read at least Two Books – Accomplished
I’m still reading John Ringo’s A Hymn Before Battle, a military sci-fi novel. I’m approaching the mid-point in the book, and the action is just starting to get going. It’s been a long buildup, but I am enjoying it.
So, that’s it for me this Check-In
Hope all is well with you.
