It’s been a hectic day with trying to fit in everything I’ve had to do so this one will be short.
I’m still working on my kitchen cabinet doors, which are coming along, and I’m still working on my ROW80 goals, so I haven’t slacked off, but it’s been a bit of a struggle today.
Here’s the goal breakdown…
Goal #1 – Finish my First Draft
I’ve been really trying to keep up with my goal of writing at least 1000 words/day now that I’m back to work, and to make up some of the deficit I built up over the holidays when I occasionally blew off my writing.
I have written at least 1000 words every day so far, and am inching closer to finishing this first draft, though I’m still not sure how far I am away from that goal. The story seems to need more words than I thought it would.
I’ve written an additional 5,000 words since the last check-in, bringing my total for this round up to 22,300 words. The draft itself is now 116,000 words long.
Goal #2 – Write At Least Three Articles/Essays
Again, I haven’t started on this one yet, because, as I’ve mentioned before, I’m saving this one for when I’m done the first draft and want to take a break from it.
Goal #3 – Start Editing
I still haven’t started on this one, either. Can’t edit until the draft is done. I’m a horrible self-editor, so I’m really trying to not go back and edit while I write. I’m saving all of the editing for when the draft is done.
Goal #4 – Read at least Two Books
Making progress with this one 🙂 I’m still reading Forever And A Day, by Anthony Horowitz, and am about half-way through it. I’m still really enjoying it, and can’t wait to see how the story plays out.
Well, that’s it for me for today. Hope you’re all managing to keep up with your goals, and are having a good week.
