Today was a rainy Saturday, which derailed my plans for working outside. I ended up just doing some reno-work inside the house, stuff I was saving for when the weather turned too cold to work outdoors, but still needed to be done. Feeling a bit accomplished, though, so there is that.
For my writing today, I didn’t want to dive into anything too heavy, and I didn’t want to spend any more time tweaking the outline for my NaNo project, lest I manage to derail the whole thing by writing myself into corners I’d rather not have to write myself out of later. I was saved when someone on one of my NaNo Facebook groups posted a series of writing prompts – essentially just one sentence questions that we were tasked with answering in 250 words or more.
The prompts were all Halloween themed, so it was a fun writing exercise, and it got me just past my word goal for the day, so yay me.
Today, also, I passed 50,000 words since I began this practice run at NaNo. It took me 36 days, which is 6 days too long, but still not bad for practice, and I’ve averaged 1417 words a day since I started. I’m starting to feel like I might actually be able to finish NaNo.
